Courtney Conover
Yoga is one of Courtney Conover's greatest passions. After spending several years as a competitive runner and long jumper, Courtney discovered yoga in college and immediately became hooked. But what she initially considered to be simply a form of low impact exercise proved to be something far greater. As a yoga instructor, Courtney considers it a blessing to assist others on their path to wellness.
"Any time spent on a yoga mat is time well spent," says Courtney. "Sure, you'll gain physical flexibility, but patience, acceptance, and inner peace are yoga's most exceptional gifts."
When Courtney's not doing or teaching yoga, she's writing. She is an eight-time contributor to the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series and also writes about motherhood on her blog, The Cribside Chronicles, at courtneyconover.blogspot.com
Born and raised in Michigan, Courtney is also a graduate of the University of Michigan. She is married to Detroit Lions offensive lineman-turned-professional chef Scott Conover. They became parents in September 2011 with the birth of their son, Scotty.

Belly Dancing at Studio
On Fridays, Taylor Yoga offers a belly dancing class. Our regular students and new participants enjoy the fun and challenging workout. Dee Watkins developed her love for dance and movement throughout her childhood. She shares a diverse dance background with training and experience in ballet, jazz, modern and cultural dance styles in her group and private classes. By demonstrating the health benefits through belly dance, we are able to build a positive self image, thereby promoting the art of bellydance as a healthy alternative towards maintaining good health and fitness. Belly dancing is a low-impact, moderate physical activity which increases flexibility, improves muscle tone and strength and is a good cardiovascular workout which can burn as many calories as light jogging, swimming or bicycling.
New classes start every Friday evening 6:00-7:30. There is room to drop by the cost is $14 drop-in or $40 for 4 classes.
